About the role

  • Facilitate and lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for mechanical equipment issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify and lead the adoption of innovative technologies, including the assessment of new equipment, vendors, and solutions to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Own Enbridge engineering standards and specifications to ensure compliance, safety, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
  • Recommend predictive and preventive maintenance practices based on Asset Health and Reliability Engineering (AHRE) analysis to ensure reliable operation and improve overall equipment efficiency.
  • Collaborate with regional staff to provide engineering expertise and solutions for operational issues, such as failure analyses and incident investigations, and offer recommendations to improve reliability and ensure safe operations.
  • Identify systemwide reliability and performance improvement opportunities, conduct gap analyses, identify reliability risks and work with stakeholders to determine and implement solutions.
  • Provide engineering expertise throughout project life cycle on capital projects or programs.
  • Provide mentoring and training for members within Operations Engineering.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA if located in Alberta.
  • Registered as a PE in the US if located in the US.
  • A minimum of six years of experience in mechanical engineering roles in the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience with a range of mechanical equipment types (e.g., mainline pumps, valves, HVAC) is preferred.
  • VCAT-II or VCAT-III Vibration Analyst certifications is an asset.
  • Knowledgeable with regulatory and industry codes/standards for the oil and gas industry in the US and Canada.
  • Role requires a valid driver’s license, which will be verified with a motor vehicle check prior to hire.
  • Requires a valid passport to travel and work between the US and Canada.
