About the role
- Ensure that all pipelines and associated facilities are designed in accordance with all regulations, applicable industry codes and corporate specifications and standards.
- Responsible for scheduling, cost control (cost estimates), and forecasting for the design work and for reporting these to the Pipeline Engineering Supervisor and Project Manager.
- Provide guidance in design reviews with outside engineering firms and with internal stakeholders.
- Work with Procurement & Supply Chain team to purchase materials and to contract Engineering related service providers.
- Provide technical assistance during construction and assist with on-site commissioning.
- Assist with the regulatory process by providing preliminary layout drawings, technical project descriptions, and other requested information for use in the application filing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Minimum 6 years of pipeline industry experience required such as experience on pipeline routing selections and design and working with geotechnical and hydro technical hazards
- In depth, detailed knowledge of applicable codes such as CSA Z662, DOT CFR 192, DOT CFR 195, ASME B31, NACE, etc.
- Familiarity and knowledge of materials standards & specifications (CSA, ASME, API, etc.)
- Trenchless design and feasibility analysis
- Pipeline stress analysis and software, CEPA surface loading calculation
- Effective interpersonal skills which include working a team focused environment and communication skills.
