About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

  • Enter charges into the EHR or billing system

  • Identify and correct claim rejections, coding errors, and data-entry issues
  • Support denial resolution by correcting coding or documentation issues
  • Ensure all services rendered are captured and billed
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready billing records
  • Follow Team Lead workflows, quality standards, and productivity expectations
  • Communicate documentation gaps, authorization issues, and system barriers
  • Assist with billing backlogs and high-volume periods
  • Support quality assurance reviews and audits
  • Participate in training, coaching, and cross-training
  • Provide coverage during team member absences
  • Support billing accuracy and turnaround-time process improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 2–4 years of U.S. medical billing and coding experience
  • Outpatient mental health or behavioral health billing experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and basic HCPCS coding
  • Familiarity with U.S. insurance, Medicaid, and managed care billing processes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow defined workflows and quality standards
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Experience working in secure virtual workstation environments preferred
  • Professional coding certifications such as CPC or equivalent preferred
  • Must work aligned with U.S. Eastern Time business hours
  • Must use the assigned Amazon Workstation; personal devices, local storage, screenshots, external email forwarding, and unauthorized systems are prohibited
  • Must comply with HIPAA, client contracts, Company policies, security, monitoring, and activity-logging requirements
