About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Influence product strategy by identifying opportunities to create meaningful impact for Empower customers, helping them build confidence and make progress toward their financial goals
- Define and improve digital experiences that help customers understand their retirement readiness, investment picture, available investment options, and next steps
- Own and update key investment portfolio analysis tools
- Own the product roadmap for assigned product areas, balancing short-term delivery, long-term opportunities, customer needs, and broader organizational strategy and goals
- Bring clarity and structure to ambiguous opportunities
- Obsess about product design, partnering closely with designers to simplify complex retirement, investing, and financial guidance concepts into intuitive, accessible, and actionable digital experiences
- Leverage customer research, usability testing, behavioral analytics, and market research to inform strategy and improve product outcomes and user satisfaction
- Partner closely with engineering and design teams to increase team velocity, cohesiveness, and productivity
- Inspire and influence leadership, peers, and cross-functional partners to drive buy-in and consensus
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, manage resources and dependencies, gain approvals from legal, compliance, and business stakeholders, and lead the team through key milestones
- Understand Empower’s business goals, the competitive landscape, and design products that align with our mission and vision
- Define, analyze, and track key performance metrics across engagement, comprehension, completion, conversion to next steps, user satisfaction, and business outcomes
- Drive decision-making through customer insights, agile methods to validate hypotheses, quantitative analysis, and experimentation
- Execute at a fast pace with a focus on customer outcomes, the user experience, and learning with limited oversight
- Constantly challenge the status quo and identify opportunities to move faster and more efficiently
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience leading customer-facing digital products, ideally in fintech, financial services, retirement, investing, workplace benefits, digital advice, or other regulated environments
- Exceptional prioritization and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance customer needs, business goals, legal and compliance requirements, and delivery constraints in a highly regulated industry
- Excellent communication skills, storytelling, and organizational skills, with the ability to create clarity and instill confidence among senior leaders, cross-functional partners, and peers
- Relentless follow-through, strong ownership, and commitment to doing the right thing for our customers and the business
- Detail- and design-oriented, with a strong belief that small experience details matter when helping customers make important financial decisions
- Passionate about tackling complex customer and business problems that improve financial confidence and outcomes
- Critical, analytical thinker who is comfortable analyzing data, identifying insights, and translating them into product decisions.
