VP Workplace Participant Engagement

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the enterprise strategy for Participant Engagement, ensuring alignment with Empower’s Workplace and Wealth strategic objectives and overall revenue and profitability goals
- Partner closely with Workplace Executive Leadership and Wealth Executive Leadership to drive integrated participant strategies that expand engagement, accelerate wealth conversion, and increase enterprise financial performance
- Lead enterprise financial planning and oversight for Participant Engagement, including P&L inputs, budget development, forecasting, and cost optimization
- Establish and track revenue-impacting KPIs, including AUM growth, advisory adoption, financial planning engagement, and managed accounts utilization
- Shape enterprise operational models and evolve delivery channels (virtual, onsite, hybrid) to maximize reach, efficiency, and margin improvement
- Influence enterprise investment decisions and prioritization related to participant-facing technology, product innovation, digital experience, and generative AI enablement
- Partner with legal, supervision, oversight, and compliance teams to ensure a sustainable culture of regulatory compliance and risk mitigation
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across product, marketing, sales, technology, operations, legal, compliance, HR, Empower Personal Wealth, and Empower Advisory Group to advance participant engagement capabilities and maximize enterprise value
- Lead a multi-level organization of Vice Presidents, Directors, Retirement Plan Advisors, Counsellors, and participant engagement teams to deliver superior outcomes and financial results
- Build and develop executive-caliber leaders capable of scaling teams, improving operational discipline, and driving consistent nationwide execution
- Establish a culture of accountability, empowerment, continuous learning, and performance excellence across all levels of the organization
- Champion enterprise-wide cultural transformation initiatives that foster innovation, adaptability, and a high-performing associate experience
- Design, implement, and continuously improve national service models that ensure efficiency, scalability, and differentiated client value
- Drive workforce planning, talent deployment, and capacity optimization aligned to evolving business and client needs
- Represent Participant Engagement at the executive level with major plan sponsors, consultants, intermediaries, key stakeholders, and executive-level industry forums
- Partner with Workplace Sales, Relationship Management, and Communications leadership to ensure aligned delivery and exceptional participant and client outcomes
- Lead large-scale transformation initiatives with plan sponsors using data-driven solutions to improve participant outcomes, plan health, and client loyalty
- Enhance enterprise revenue by optimizing participant engagement pathways, advisor productivity, and cross-sell opportunities
- Reduce operational and service risk through close partnership with operations, compliance, and legal teams
- Serve as the voice of Participant Engagement with senior leadership, informing enterprise decisions on product strategy, service models, customer experience, and growth initiatives.
- Lead major transformation efforts that modernize delivery models, leverage data and analytics, and enhance personalization and efficiency
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline
- 15+ years of senior leadership experience in financial services, wealth management, retirement, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in organizational design, including migrating teams and business units resulting from mergers and acquisitions
- Experience managing large organizations with full P&L responsibility and strong understanding of business economics
- Proven success partnering with executive leadership across multiple business lines to drive enterprise outcomes
- FINRA Series 6, 26, 63, and 65 registrations required
- FINRA fingerprinting required upon hire
- Ability to travel up to 50%
