About the role
- Define and lead Empower’s consumer communications strategy to grow visibility, trust, and advocacy, aligning it with Corporate Affairs, business priorities, and executive messaging
- Build and sustain Tier 1 media relationships across finance, lifestyle, and business while serving as a spokesperson and senior media advisor
- Establish a branded newsroom and deliver timely, insight-driven storytelling that connects financial and cultural trends and fuels ongoing thought leadership
- Create and oversee integrated PR, influencer, and earned/owned media programs that support campaigns, product launches, and brand initiatives
- Develop scalable influencer engagement frameworks that elevate credible financial and lifestyle voices
- Design and manage issue, reputation, and crisis response frameworks in close partnership with Risk, Legal, and Customer Care
- Translate proprietary data and research into compelling narratives and partner with analytics, product, and marketing teams to surface stories that reinforce Empower’s leadership
- Track and optimize PR and communications performance using reach, sentiment, share of voice, and ROI
- Amplify executive voices through earned and owned channels, including op-eds, speaking engagements, and thought leadership platforms
- Lead integrated communications across PR, internal communications, executive messaging, and digital storytelling to ensure consistent company-wide narrative
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree or certification a plus
- 12–15 years in public relations, brand communications, or media strategy
- Proven success leading high-profile media programs and shaping narrative at scale
- Experience designing and executing integrated PR, influencer, and thought leadership programs
- Strong executive communication, advisory, and spokesperson skills
- Deep understanding of consumer culture, digital influence, and media dynamics
- Ability to work across complex stakeholder groups and regulated environments
