Role at the intersection of industrial and service design, supporting product development across hardware and software.
Work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Full stack Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Regulatory Specialists and Data Scientists.
Role may involve direct interaction with management due to Empatica's flat organisation.
Lead the investigational expansive phase using service design tools, with strong industrial design sensitivity.
Responsibilities include service conceptualisation to proof of concept, agile feature updates to new hardware products; generating user requirements, wireframes, scenarios, flowcharts, prototypes, and design specifications.
Ensure industrial designs and user interfaces communicate consistent, effective experiences aligned with product strategy.
Build an Industrial Material Design System and coordinate with other senior designers and specialists.
Position is hybrid (not fully remote) and work is conducted in English.

Requirements

Have a strong design lead capability, combined with excellent execution skills and autonomy
Have a degree in Design or a relevant field and/or post-graduate courses
Have 6+ years of experience as a (Full stack) designer as well as a strong portfolio of related projects, including Service Design and Industrial Design projects
Master the use of prototyping and production design tools related to both service and Industrial Design fields, like Figma, 3D modeling and rendering package (Cinema 4d, Redshift), Adobe Suite
Have a solid and ever-expanding knowledge base, also in other design-related fields
Have a pragmatism well grounded in reality that helps you to parse complex data and information “to get to the point” quickly and effectively
Have a get-things-done attitude, and done impeccably
Have proficient communication skills in English (Italian not needed)
Empatica operates in an international environment with offices in Europe, the US, and Korea. All work is conducted in English.
