Directs the strategic planning, development and implementation of a large and complex program or of several smaller programs.
Plans, administers and monitors program budgets and facilitates processing of programmatic expenses.
Develops short and long term goals and objectives and oversees related special projects.
Represents the program in institutional, local, state, national, and international settings as needed.
Manages solicitation of funding from foundation, corporate, individual and governmental donors.
Collaborates with and seeks support from representatives of other organizations and with Emory University Government Relations.
Establishes and administers policies and procedures and supervises staff.
Ensures catchment area assessment data and community stakeholder input are integrated into strategic planning.
Works closely with Marketing and Communications to disseminate data and events relevant to Winship and its catchment area.
Develops materials for COE website and other community outreach activities.
Manages finances and budgets for COE and WCCHER in collaboration with Winship Finances; reviews budgetary expenses and ensures compliance with University policies.
Reviews and assigns requests for services received by COE from researchers, clinicians, students, and community members.
Partners with county and statewide community organizations to promote evidence-based interventions for cancer prevention, screening, and control.
Drafts annual announcement for Community Mini-Grant Pilot program and oversees distribution, application reviews, awards, and progress reports.
Serves on Planning Committee for annual statewide Georgia Cancer Summit and represents COE at meetings.
Collaborates with Emory Healthcare for community-based clinical activities such as screening programs.
Organizes meetings, communications, and oversees activities of the Winship Community Advisory Board and WCCHER.
Collects, analyzes, and summarizes data for presentations, progress reports, External Advisory Board meetings, and the P30 Cancer Center Support Grant.
Drafts progress reports and financial reports for COE and WCCHER and assists with extramural grant applications.
Conducts literature searches and summarizes findings for COE activities or proposals.
Provides expertise in data related to statewide cancer disparities and helps develop community input and formal community boards to advise research studies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to program work and seven years of related experience which includes two years at a management level, OR an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
Graduate degree preferred.
Strong decision-making skills.

Experience supporting research and care efforts.

Supervisory/management experience.
Effective writing, analytical, presentation, and collaboration skills.
