About the role

  • Ensure institutional compliance with all laws, regulations, and institutional policies related to donor intent restrictions
  • Monitor the use of funds and work with school/unit leaders to ensure effective utilization
  • Meet directly with school and unit leaders including deans, directors, and senior finance staff to review funds
  • Ensure appropriate processes are in place for sharing terms and documentation related to any funds
  • Provide counsel to financial officers and staff centrally and in schools & units
  • Refine and develop institutional policies that define and support activities related to donor-supported restricted funds
  • Partner with AAE and institutional leadership on specific initiatives and projects
  • Perform related responsibilities as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and ten years of experience in advancement, accounting, IT, or related field with management or leadership experience
  • Extensive experience managing projects, budgets, and financial reports
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, mass email applications, database and project management software, and CRM systems
  • Proficiency in fundraising reporting and counting
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting systems (FASB 116 and 117 specifically) and IRS regulations with regard to charitable giving
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and navigate a complex work environment
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Experience leading teams, working independently as well as collaboratively to achieve goals
  • Prior experience in administrative management, advancement, fundraising, campaign, alumni engagement, non-profit, or a university setting
  • High level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion
  • Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.
