About the role

  • You will design, build, and scale Emma’s internal platform, enabling fast, secure, and reliable software delivery across all our product teams.
  • You will develop and maintain developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation to reduce cognitive load and increase team productivity.
  • You will own critical parts of our internal tooling and platform services, driving improvements in reliability, performance, and usability.
  • You will collaboratively work closely with engineering teams to understand their workflows and remove friction from the software development lifecycle.
  • You will contribute to our DevOps and SRE practices, ensuring robust monitoring, alerting, and incident response for our platform services.
  • You will help define and implement standards, documentation, and best practices that enable scalable and consistent development across Emma.
  • You will work as part of an agile, empowered team, actively sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and fostering a collaborative environment for innovation.
  • You will take part in recruitment processes to grow our platform and engineering teams.

Requirements

  • You have a track record of designing and operating scalable internal platforms, infrastructure, or developer tooling in a cloud-native environment.
  • You have solid experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi), CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, Argo CD), and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • You bring strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, software design, and distributed systems.
  • You are experienced in modern programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, TypeScript) and familiar with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • You have hands-on experience implementing observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and promoting a culture of reliability and operational excellence.
  • You care deeply about code quality, maintainability, and documentation.
  • You are highly self-organized, with a strong sense of ownership and a proactive approach to using technology to solve internal challenges.
  • You have strong analytical skills, business acumen, and are an open-minded and creative team player that challenges directly while caring deeply. A background in supporting large-scale production systems or enabling teams through platform abstraction is a plus.
