About the role
- Reports to: Senior Director, Communications Research
- Monitor public narratives and ensure organizational communications are grounded in accurate, timely information.
- Assist with drafting memos, backgrounders, and other written materials for internal and external use.
- Track and analyze media coverage, interviews, and transcript readouts to identify trends, messaging opportunities, and risks.
- Conduct rapid-response research to support communications and digital teams.
- Vet individuals, vendors, and venues for internal and external events.
- Support the training and management of department interns.
Requirements
- Extremely keen attention to detail, meticulous, and thorough copy-editing skills;
- Familiarity with Associated Press style editing and formatting;
- Strong writing, grammar, communication, and organizational skills;
- Experience prioritizing and working on multiple projects at once;
- Experience in campaigns/politics/advocacy a plus, preferably in a research environment;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Works, Google Suite, and other programs to track, organize, and present data effectively;
- Experience using federal and state government databases and official data sources a plus;
- Proactive self-starter with a hunger to continuously learn and expand the EMILYs List community;
