About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

You are responsible for the overall technical architecture across the entire customer lifecycle — from the presales phase to a successful go-live.
You act as the central interface between our insurance clients and the EMIL Insurance Suite: you collaborate with customers to develop viable end-to-end (E2E) architectures.
You present architectural concepts and technical roadmaps convincingly to C-level executives (CTO, CIO, CDO).
You drive the technical transformation within the customer-delivery organization: standardizing architecture practices, introducing modern cloud and SaaS patterns, and enabling delivery teams.
You serve as a mentor and technical anchor for Solution Architects and Customer Delivery Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
You document architectural decisions, requirements, and technical concepts, ensuring sustainable knowledge embedding within the customer-delivery organization.
You are responsible for technical communication with all stakeholders — both internal and external — and keep all parties consistently informed.

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 8–10 years of experience as an Enterprise Architect, including several years in the insurance industry or in a consulting firm with an insurance focus.
Fluent, negotiation-level communication skills in German (C2 / native) and English (very good, C1), both written and spoken, are mandatory — French is a plus.
You are comfortable in German- and English-language C-level discussions and can influence decision-makers on equal footing.
Deep understanding of cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP), SaaS delivery models, and modern integration patterns (REST, event-driven, microservices).
Ability to build strong, trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels — from developers to board members.
Strong hands-on mentality: you maintain attention to technical details even when working at a strategic level.
Experience with APIs, BPMN, SaaS platforms, AWS technologies, requirements engineering, and the insurance domain is a clear plus.
Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, ArchiMate) and certifications in cloud or architecture are advantageous.
You are familiar with dynamic work environments; agile project management methods are not new to you.
Consulting experience (Big Four, tier-1 consulting) is a strong plus.
Approximately 20–30% travel willingness within Germany and Switzerland.
