About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead planning and coordination of purchasing, inventory control, and scheduling activities
  • Serve as a key contributor to the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process
  • Manage, train, coach, and develop department personnel, including recruitment, performance feedback, and corrective discipline
  • Coordinate strategic and alternative sources of supply with the Commodity Manager
  • Develop and manage the SIOP plan and material flow
  • Maintain forecasts in the ERP system
  • Manage the master schedule to achieve a 95% promise date service level
  • Develop materials and production plans consistent with required lead times
  • Ensure material availability for manufacturing
  • Maintain effective supplier and customer relationships
  • Support supplier base management and certified supplier initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with supplier payment terms policy
  • Negotiate and control costs
  • Maintain accurate ERP database information, including costs, lead times, usage, transactions, and cycle counts
  • Prepare and manage the annual department budget
  • Manage raw materials and piece parts to meet or exceed inventory turn objectives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in purchasing, production control, materials management, or a related manufacturing environment
  • Experience utilizing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to support materials planning, inventory management, and purchasing activities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as required
  • Preferred: experience using Oracle ERP systems
  • Preferred: three (3) or more years of leadership or supervisory experience within a manufacturing, supply chain, or materials management environment
