About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L‑PBF) part development pipeline, acting as a consultant for part selection, process selection, optimization, qualification, and implementation.
Design innovative, production‑ready components by creating 3D models and assemblies optimized for additive manufacturing to improve quality, cost, and speed.
Collaborate with global engineering teams, clearly communicating timelines, risks, and solutions while influencing design decisions across multiple stakeholders.
Create rough stock and finish‑machined drawings, considering GD&T requirements, inspection capabilities, and downstream machining processes.
Develop, build, and test prototypes, working hands‑on in the Additive Technology Lab.
Contribute to the advancement of Emerson’s additive manufacturing standards, engineering practices, and internal best‑practice documentation.
Support continuous improvement by initiating engineering change requests and documenting post‑build results to inform and refine future designs.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least one year of experience with additive manufacturing; co‑op or internship experience is valued.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Flexibility to occasionally work off‑hours and/or travel to collaborate with global teams across different time zones.
