About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Be part of the sales pursuit team for Measurement Systems & Services (MSS) opportunities by providing technical advice to design cost effective engineered solutions that maximize Emerson’s portfolio and differentiate from competitors.
  • Combine technical expertise of analytical process systems with consultative selling to design and deliver engineered solutions that meet customer requirements and drive revenue growth.
  • Engage early with customers and/or end users to provide technical support and help specify Emerson’s portfolio of analytical process gas solutions and differentiators.
  • Understand project requirements and specifications to provide adequate technical support, optimizing the technical solution provided.
  • Provide technical advice on the design of analytical process gas and liquid systems.
  • Interpret functional requirements of specifications and select necessary equipment based on sound engineering techniques and practical experience.
  • Design and develop engineered solutions for LNG, refining, petrochemical, power industries using Emerson products, ensuring compliance with specifications and cost objectives to secure customer approval.
  • Perform engineering calculations and create documentation (system specifications, layouts, BOMs) using design tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to present accurate proposals that strengthen Emerson’s value proposition.
  • Optimize designs for cost effectiveness and manufacturability to improve competitiveness and support sales objectives.
  • Participate in presentations, factory acceptance tests, and site visits to validate solutions and build trust, contributing to successful project closure.
  • Work closely with global sales and engineering teams to develop strategies, track major projects, and ensure technical solutions align with business development goals.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or the foreign equivalent in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field, plus 7 years of progressively responsible experience in an Electrical engineering or process engineering occupation.
  • 7 years of experience engineering solutions for analytical process gas, liquid business development, and technical experience including working in global, large and matrix organizations;
  • 7 years of experience working with the engineered solutions industry, including competitor technical offerings, specifically around process gas analyzer and emissions monitoring (CEMS) solutions;
  • 3 years of experience managing teams in business development related activities.
  • Domestic travel required up to 25% of the time.
