About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Generate ideas, develop concepts, and create detailed mechanical designs for new products and product enhancements.
  • Perform hand calculations, tolerance analysis, and GD&T stack‑up in alignment with ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Apply strong engineering fundamentals to address design, manufacturing, and performance challenges.
  • Provide CAD design support using Solid Edge or SolidWorks for New Product Development (NPD) and Sustenance projects.
  • Drive cost‑reduction and quality improvement initiatives while maintaining product performance and compliance.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) principles to improve efficiency and ease of production.
  • Execute Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) using PLM systems.
  • Support prototype build, functional testing, validation activities, and evaluation of test results.
  • Create, manage, and maintain costed Bills of Materials (BOMs) using Teamcenter or similar PLM tools.
  • Balance multiple priorities effectively to meet customer expectations, quality requirements, and project timelines.
  • Communicate technical information, design intent, and project updates clearly with global and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in mechanical design, product development, or sustenance engineering roles.
  • Working knowledge of CAD tools, with preference for Solid Edge; experience with SolidWorks is also valued.
  • Understanding of casting, plastic, and/or forging design considerations.
  • Familiarity with GD&T concepts and ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly in both written and verbal formats for a global audience.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and processes in a dynamic environment.
