Field Engineer – Excitation Associate
EmersonEntry-level Excitation Field Service Engineer supporting application and commissioning of excitation systems for power projects. Collaborating with cross-functional teams at Emerson Power & Water Solutions in Cranberry Township, PA.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply and integrate excitation subsystem components into fully functional excitation/voltage regulator systems that meet customer specifications.
- Perform factory acceptance testing to verify that systems meet customer and project specifications.
- Travel to customer sites to conduct walkdowns, installations, maintenance, site acceptance testing, and commissioning activities.
- Acquire, prepare, and maintain the necessary test equipment and tools to successfully execute field assignments.
- Maintain a clear understanding of project scope, schedule, hours of work, and key delivery milestones.
- Proactively inform the Project Manager of any conditions, findings, or customer requests that may affect scope, schedule, cost, or safety.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, design principles, and problem-solving methods
- A problem-solver's mindset, with the ability to analyze information and think creatively to find solutions
- Be able to travel up to 80% of the time
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
