About the role
- Develop outstanding work products to deliver maximum stakeholder value for Emerson’s Distributed Control Systems.
- Design and implement Kubernetes and cloud native services and applications.
- Develop rich desktop and web applications and real-time embedded firmware used for engineering and operating process control systems.
- Document, maintain, and validate work products.
- Participate in retrospectives, collect global lessons learned and lead continuous improvement Kanban.
- Collaborate side-by-side with cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment and adhere to Agile/SAFe processes.
- Occasionally travel domestically.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or STEM field; Computer science preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in a software development environment
- Programming experience with a modern language such as C#, Java, Python, PHP, JavaScript, MongoDB, Express, Angular.js, Node.js, GraphQL, C++
- Experience with working within an Agile (especially SAFe based) development process
- Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Preferred: Experience with Cloud native technology stack
- Preferred: Experience with containerization technology such as Kubernetes and Docker
- Preferred: Experience with event streaming frameworks such as Kafka
- Preferred: Experience operating with DevSecOps CI/CD automation environments in an active platform
- Preferred: Experience developing software in an organization using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe 4.0 or SAFe 4.5)
- Preferred: An understanding of or experience with Process Control or Distributed Control Systems
- Preferred: Experience in the development of control systems, avionics, or other near-real time information control systems
- Preferred: Proficient in Azure DevOps, SharePoint and SQL
- Preferred: Excellent interpersonal skills and strong ability to influence others
- Preferred: Very strong analytical skills
- Preferred: Ability to travel occasionally (domestically)
