About the role

Develop outstanding work products to deliver maximum stakeholder value for Emerson’s Distributed Control Systems.
Design and implement Kubernetes and cloud native services and applications.
Develop rich desktop and web applications and real-time embedded firmware used for engineering and operating process control systems.
Document, maintain, and validate work products.
Participate in retrospectives, collect global lessons learned and lead continuous improvement Kanban.
Collaborate side-by-side with cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment and adhere to Agile/SAFe processes.
Occasionally travel domestically.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical or STEM field; Computer science preferred.
5+ years’ experience in a software development environment
Programming experience with a modern language such as C#, Java, Python, PHP, JavaScript, MongoDB, Express, Angular.js, Node.js, GraphQL, C++
Experience with working within an Agile (especially SAFe based) development process
Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred: Experience with Cloud native technology stack
Preferred: Experience with containerization technology such as Kubernetes and Docker
Preferred: Experience with event streaming frameworks such as Kafka
Preferred: Experience operating with DevSecOps CI/CD automation environments in an active platform
Preferred: Experience developing software in an organization using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe 4.0 or SAFe 4.5)
Preferred: An understanding of or experience with Process Control or Distributed Control Systems
Preferred: Experience in the development of control systems, avionics, or other near-real time information control systems
Preferred: Proficient in Azure DevOps, SharePoint and SQL
Preferred: Excellent interpersonal skills and strong ability to influence others
Preferred: Very strong analytical skills
Preferred: Ability to travel occasionally (domestically)
