Handles projects of an administrative nature which require extensive confidentiality, discretion, and independent judgment; requires a high degree of accountability due to the extent of areas supported by the President’s position
Schedules appointments and coordinates arrangements for travel, meetings, and conferences; manages the President’s calendar and coordinates with Emerson representatives
Communicates daily with personnel from all levels of the organization, Emerson Enterprise, Business Units, external Impact Partners, and other collaborators
Coordinates and prioritizes Americas and global team events and meetings (e.g. President’s Club, Business Reviews, customer events, employee events)
Assists in preparing and submitting expense reports
Organizes and expedites flow of paperwork through President’s office; responds to correspondence and requests and institutes follow-up action
Screens calls, correspondence, and visitors; answers routine questions and directs inquiries; acts as first point of contact to outside inquiries
Composes correspondence, prepares reports and presentations requiring information from a variety of sources; conducts special projects
Ensures correspondence reflects company standards through good English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading
May provide work direction to other office employees and support other World Area President leadership team members in full or partial capacity
May serve as backup for other assistants on the team as needed
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent experience (GED)
8+ years of broad administrative assistant experience, including executive-level
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
Legal authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship)
Administrative assistant training and/or college education preferred
Strong discretion, confidentiality, diplomacy, and tact
Ability to manage uncertainty, anticipate issues, and plan accordingly
Excellent written English, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills
Experience coordinating travel, meetings, events, and preparing/submitting expense reports
