About the role
- Facilitate trade in a compliant manner, be responsible to handle daily import/export shipments, independently communicate with broker to ensure accurate and on-time data transition.
- Support special trade modes such as Repair and Return, hand carry, temporary import, used equipment import, etc, ensuring compliance with all applicable trade compliance regulations, including local trade regulations pertaining to import and export, anti-bribery regulations, as well as NI’s code of ethics policies.
- Able to manage trade queries from multiple parties, example: local Customs, brokers, importing agents etc. with the cooperation of team members and guidance from the manager.
- Understanding key trade elements (including, but not limited to product valuation, commercial invoice setups, incoterms, local Customs requirements, product compliance, etc.).
- Collaboration with multiple Government Authorities, external parties related to trade (local Customs, brokers, consultants etc.).
- Basic understanding of common trade practices such as the use of FTA, Carnets and other relevant alternatives or available preferential treatment on tariffs.
- Broker management - understanding the roles and responsibilities of appointed brokers and monitoring their execution based on pre-determined KPIs.
- Cooperate with the customer and internal colleagues in manufacturing and sales/services operations to ensure excellent customer satisfaction.
- Manage archiving of shipping documents & shipment tracking.
- Facilitate internal audit processes and follow up.
- Support other world area hold management, as needed.
- Create procedures and documentation to support T&M’s compliance program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Required in International Trade, Logistics/ business, Legal, engineer or other relevant qualification.
- Preference of Customs & import/export operations experience. However, fresh graduates are strongly encouraged to apply as well.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Ability to keep up with changes in trade regulation, geo-trade affairs and other relevant matters related to trade.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Business Applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.); ERP applications.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, relationship management and collaboration skills.
- Able to detect gaps and implement the needed solutions.
- Proven ability to make sound decisions.
- Ability to effectively multi-task.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a global, multi-time-zone team environment.
- Has the initiative to undertake additional responsibilities.
