About the role
- Utilize knowledge of hardware components, cabinet layout variations, marshalling configurations, cabinet cabling, and I/O module options to develop best‑cost solutions aligned with customer requirements.
- Support hardware ordering objectives to meet project milestones and on‑time delivery commitments.
- Perform hardware engineering activities for assigned projects, including system layouts, cabinet configurations, and design development using AutoCAD or comparable design tools.
- Develop, maintain, and update accurate bills of material within the ordering system, including preparing and processing change notices as needed.
- Maintain the AEO controlled parts list to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with established standards.
- Partner with marketing and proposals teams to support improved hardware cost estimates.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, project management, supply chain, and manufacturing partners to resolve issues and support smooth project execution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to standardize designs, enhance processes, and improve cost, quality, and delivery performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related STEM discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related professional experience in engineering, ideally within electrical systems, automation, controls, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Ability to interpret customer and project requirements related to hardware design, cabinet layouts, marshalling, cabling, and I/O configurations.
- Experience creating and maintaining bills of material and supporting engineering change processes with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency using engineering or business systems and comfort working with structured part lists and controlled items.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across engineering, project management, and manufacturing teams.
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship (U.S. citizen or permanent resident).
