About the role

  • Develop Territory Strategy – Analyze market dynamics, customer needs, and competitor activity to create territory plans that drive growth in Northern & Central Italy, with a focus on the Power & Energy sector.
  • Engage Customers – Build and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers, from engineering teams to senior executives, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Position Solutions – Identify customer challenges and present Emerson’s automation and DCS technologies (including Ovation and other platforms) clearly and confidently, highlighting value, safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Drive Customer Interaction – Conduct regular onsite visits, technical presentations, demos, and workshops to support customer understanding and advance the sales cycle.
  • Lead Negotiations – Handle commercial discussions related to pricing, discounts, and contract terms in line with Emerson’s Delegation of Authority, ensuring strong customer outcomes and business responsibility.
  • Collaborate Internally – Work closely with internal teams across sales support, proposals, engineering, projects, and services to develop high-value, customer-focused solutions.
  • Manage Pipeline – Keep accurate opportunity records in the CRM system, deliver reliable forecasts, and share insights on market trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure Compliance – Follow Emerson’s ethics standards, Trade Compliance processes, and all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Champion Emerson’s Values – Demonstrate collaboration, innovation, integrity, and inclusion in your everyday work, contributing to a positive team environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in technical or solution-based sales, ideally in industrial automation, control systems, or similar engineering environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and the ability to communicate technical concepts confidently.
  • Familiarity with Ovation or comparable control platforms—or the motivation to learn quickly.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and working with CRM tools.
  • Fluent Italian and English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Northern & Central Italy.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, or relevant practical experience gained in automation or control systems.
