DCS engineering for Solar, BESS and Microgrid Renewables Projects
Collection and review of project inputs from the Front Office or from the customer site via e-mail, kick off meetings, and site surveys
Complete new and updated projects reliant on DCS and SCADA, involving engineering and configuration of software and hardware
Lead team in implementing controls from SAMA, functional diagrams, or descriptions; modify DCS/SCADA graphics; develop macros and validate
Create/modify DCS internal point database; extract HW I/O list from customer drawings; prepare database and query HW team/customers for clarifications
Guide team on I/O list and DBID; build DCS system components (Binary gates, A/M stations, PIDs); implement simulation logic for testing controls and graphics
Configure 3rd party protocols and ELC/SLC communication
Distribute engineering work to system integrators and follow up to complete projects within budget, on time, and with quality
Participate in kick-off meetings, internal and external project meetings; engage in customer demos, FATs, SATs, and commissioning activities
Use PSCAD and PSSE for power system simulation and testing
Conduct process testing of Solar/BESS/Microgrid plants and BOP; ensure compliance with IEEE/IEC/NEC and grid codes
Follow department Quality & HSE processes and procedures
Field services: Ovation system power up, redundancy and I/O testing; analogue and digital device testing and fault finding
Perform loop checks, device checks, panel charging; implement necessary modifications in logics, graphics, and database per site requirements
Fault diagnosis of Ovation, network systems, and communication interfaces (OPC, Modbus, DNP3, serial, IEC 61850)
Collaborate with engineering team to fix HW/SW issues (controllers, modules, link modules, etc.)
