About the role

  • Support the development and configuration of control system applications using Emerson’s DeltaV distributed control system (DCS).
  • Develop control logic and software configurations according to project specifications and functional requirements.
  • Prepare functional design specifications and technical documentation under the guidance of the Lead Engineer.
  • Perform internal testing and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) together with project teams and customers.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and customers to ensure the solution meets project objectives and expectations.
  • Support commissioning, start-up activities, and system testing at customer sites when required.
  • Work closely with senior PAS engineers, gaining hands-on experience through on-the-job training and formal training programs.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or currently completing one) in Automation Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Energy Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Telecommunications, or Computer Engineering.
  • Italian mother tongue and good proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Interest in industrial automation, control systems, and software configuration.
  • Strong organizational and analytical thinking skills.
  • Willingness to learn, collaborate, and grow within a technical engineering team.
  • Availability to travel and work at customer sites when required (primarily after the initial training period).
  • Driving license for car.
  • Internship, thesis, or early work experience in industrial automation, PLC, or DCS systems.
  • Basic knowledge of control systems, automation software configuration, or process control logic.
  • Familiarity with industrial environments such as process plants, manufacturing facilities, or automation projects.
  • 1–2 years of experience in automation engineering, software configuration, or commissioning activities.
