About the role
- Develop and execute strategies for Emerson’s global compliance program, including international trade, antitrust/competition, anti-corruption, third-party due diligence, data privacy, product cybersecurity, AI governance, record retention, and conflict minerals.
- Advise senior executives—including the CEO, Chief Legal Officer, and Chief Compliance Officer—on compliance matters, risks, and associated costs.
- Lead and manage the Regulatory Compliance team to deliver practical, high-quality legal counsel aligned with business objectives.
- Stay current on global regulatory trends, laws, and best practices to ensure Emerson remains proactive and compliant.
- Drive process improvements and strategic initiatives to strengthen compliance programs.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning.
- Oversee inquiries, investigations, audits, and interactions with regulatory bodies.
- Manage the Regulatory Compliance budget and relationships with external counsel and experts.
- Contribute to the vision and strategy of the Global Legal and Security Department as part of the leadership team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Extensive legal experience (typically 15+ years) with substantive international regulatory compliance expertise
- Strong knowledge of U.S. and global compliance laws and regulations
- Ability to work effectively with senior leadership and navigate complex business environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available)
- Willingness to travel, including internationally
