About the role
- Create/design/model/prototype electronics packaging solutions for NI products
- Select and approve materials, components, and mechanical hardware
- Create materials processing specifications for part manufacturing
- Certify and support external vendors involved in product/part manufacturing
- Conduct tolerance stack-up, thermal and structural analyses of products
- Conduct verification and validation testing for the product
- Provide support to the manufacturing team throughout production
- Support purchasing to ensure quality delivery of all mechanical parts
- Become a leading technical resource on electronics packaging technology
Requirements
- B.S. or MS in mechanical engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical design
- Creative design skills
- Good understanding of fundamental mechanical design principles and processes
- Knowledge of CAD/CAE packages: CREO, SolidWorks, etc.
- Experience in metal and plastic materials processing is a plus
- Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
- English Language Competency and effective communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate well in a group development environment
- Solve problems effectively
- Take initiative in tackling difficult issues, be a self-starter
- Take ownership of goals, schedules, and manage time well
