About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and public-facing legal documentation supporting business operations, growth and risk management.
  • Structuring contractual frameworks, identifying legal and commercial risks and providing practical, business-oriented solutions.
  • Supporting the design and launch of new travel products, booking flows, payment solutions and commercial models across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Advising on booking flows, ancillary products, customer journeys, cancellation and refund mechanics, and other customer-facing features from a legal and regulatory perspective.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to design compliant business, contractual and payment flows and ensure alignment with applicable legal requirements.
  • Supporting international expansion initiatives, including market entry projects, local regulatory assessments and implementation of new business models.
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments across multiple jurisdictions and assessing their impact on the business.
  • Advising on legal and regulatory requirements applicable to online travel businesses, including consumer protection, e-commerce, travel regulation, package travel, intermediary liability, payment regulation and digital platform regulation.
  • Advising on payment flows, merchant models, PSP integrations and regulatory implications of international payment structures.
  • Leading implementation of regulatory changes, managing external counsel across multiple jurisdictions and translating local legal advice into practical, scalable business solutions.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified to practise law in England & Wales, the United States or an EU Member State.
  • 7+ years of post-qualification experience, including significant in-house legal experience supporting international consumer technology, digital platform or travel technology businesses operating across the EU, UK and US.
  • Substantial in-house legal experience supporting an Online Travel Agency (OTA), bedbank, travel marketplace, travel distribution platform or travel technology business operating internationally.
  • Strong experience in international contracting, including agreements governed by common law and civil law jurisdictions, as well as cross-border commercial matters.
  • Strong understanding of EU, UK and US legal and regulatory frameworks relevant to online travel businesses, including consumer protection, e-commerce, package travel, intermediary liability, payment regulation, digital platform regulation and privacy laws applicable to consumer-facing digital services.
  • Experience supporting commercial and product legal matters across multiple European jurisdictions (including common-law and civil-law systems) and North America.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex international legal matters and coordinate external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, manage stakeholders and drive implementation of legal solutions.
  • Ability to assess, communicate and mitigate legal risks in a practical and business-oriented manner.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
