About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support operating companies (OPCOs) within the mechanical segment by assisting in the coordination, visibility, and improvement of operational performance
  • Work closely with the Chief Operations Officer and OPCO leadership teams to strengthen execution discipline, support leadership transitions, and improve operational predictability
  • Assist SVP Operations in supporting OPCO performance across assigned region
  • Participate in operating reviews and project discussions
  • Help identify execution risks and improvement opportunities
  • Support implementation of operational discipline (project controls, productivity, planning)
  • Travel up to 40-60%
  • Develop familiarity with key projects, backlog, and operational drivers across OPCOs
  • Track performance indicators such as: project execution trends, productivity signals, schedule adherence
  • Provide structured updates to SVP Operations Leadership
  • Build relationships with OPCO leadership teams
  • Support new CEO or operations leader transitions
  • Assist Strategic Development Leader in onboarding alignment
  • Participate in enterprise initiatives including: preconstruction discipline improvements, procurement strategies, and technology and AI adoption

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related areas of study or field experience
  • Minimum of 7-10 years Mechanical Construction experience
  • Prior experience in one or more: Project Management, Field Operations, Estimating/Preconstruction, Fabrication/Prefabrication
  • Exposure to multiple project types preferred (commercial, industrial, mission critical)
  • Broad understanding of Mechanical Contracting business
  • Proven track record of leading projects while maintaining a commitment to Ethics and Safety
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience with Accubid, Procore, Bluebeam or other construction software
  • Familiarity with construction/financial software packages
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English and cooperate with multiple levels of customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
