About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support operating companies (OPCOs) within the mechanical segment by assisting in the coordination, visibility, and improvement of operational performance
Work closely with the Chief Operations Officer and OPCO leadership teams to strengthen execution discipline, support leadership transitions, and improve operational predictability
Assist SVP Operations in supporting OPCO performance across assigned region
Participate in operating reviews and project discussions
Help identify execution risks and improvement opportunities
Support implementation of operational discipline (project controls, productivity, planning)
Travel up to 40-60%
Develop familiarity with key projects, backlog, and operational drivers across OPCOs
Track performance indicators such as: project execution trends, productivity signals, schedule adherence
Provide structured updates to SVP Operations Leadership
Build relationships with OPCO leadership teams
Support new CEO or operations leader transitions
Assist Strategic Development Leader in onboarding alignment
Participate in enterprise initiatives including: preconstruction discipline improvements, procurement strategies, and technology and AI adoption

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction or related areas of study or field experience
Minimum of 7-10 years Mechanical Construction experience
Prior experience in one or more: Project Management, Field Operations, Estimating/Preconstruction, Fabrication/Prefabrication
Exposure to multiple project types preferred (commercial, industrial, mission critical)
Broad understanding of Mechanical Contracting business
Proven track record of leading projects while maintaining a commitment to Ethics and Safety
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
Experience with Accubid, Procore, Bluebeam or other construction software
Familiarity with construction/financial software packages
Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English and cooperate with multiple levels of customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.
