About the role

  • Support the Trade Compliance Department and assist in developing solutions to ensure effectiveness of the Enhanced Compliance Program
  • Assist in enhancing the company's global compliance program, including business and trade sanctions
  • Interpret U.S. trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC and Customs) and provide guidance to internal and external customers
  • Interface with Program Managers, Contracts, Supply Chain, and Senior Leadership to ensure compliance with U.S. trade regulations
  • Draft, submit and manage export licenses, technical assistance agreements, commodity jurisdiction, voluntary disclosures, general correspondences, and classification requests
  • Review and approve international shipments, foreign travel, incoming foreign visitors, and release of technology and technical data
  • Conduct trade compliance trainings for internal customers and controlled companies' personnel
  • Assist in creating, administering and improving the EECP across Embraer group companies
  • Integrate compliance functions across Embraer business units to manage Trade Compliance risks
  • Coordinate with Management and HR on disciplinary actions for Trade Compliance breaches
  • Assist in conducting risk assessments of significant legal and Trade compliance risks
  • Assist with trade compliance communications and investigate/resolve issues (including helpline channel)
  • Create and maintain control plans, monitor regulatory changes, identify non-compliance, and implement corrective actions
  • Work with Internal Audit to implement monitoring and audit mechanisms and review program effectiveness

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree Required
  • 4-8+ years of relevant experience in trade compliance
  • Practical knowledge of U.S. trade regulations (ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and Customs)
  • Experience using D-Trade & SNAP-R; experience with ACE a plus
  • Knowledge of international shipping and Customs procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SharePoint, Lotus Notes, SAP, Internet Explorer
  • Good communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize
  • Research skills to perform legal research using electronic sources
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and implement recommendations
  • Business vision & competitiveness skills (managing innovation, customer service, growth, creativity)
  • Organized, detailed and business oriented
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations
