Full-stack Engineer

• Design and build the desktop applications and interfaces that Elroy’s operators and engineers use every day
• Develop mission planning tools, real-time telemetry displays, diagnostic interfaces, and ground support workflows
• Collaborate closely with engineers from various disciplines including embedded systems, control systems, flight physics, and power electronics
• Understand the data you’re visualizing and the workflows you’re supporting
• Contribute to the team’s overall software architecture and developer experience, particularly for tooling and internal platforms

Senior Software Engineer, Operator Tools

Systems Engineer

• Own software that runs directly on safety-critical avionics hardware including our main flight computers
• Work at the intersection of firmware, real-time systems, and hardware bring-up
• Contribute to a team culture where everyone is expected to understand the system end to end
• Interact with engineers from a wide variety of disciplines on a daily basis, including systems engineering, controls, flight physics, power electronics, and aeromechanical
• Develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers and SoCs in a bare-metal and/or RTOS environment (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar)
• Develop driver development, peripheral integration, and board bring-up for custom hardware platforms
• Create real-time control loops and sensor fusion pipelines where timing and determinism are non-negotiable
• Engage in hardware debugging: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG, willing to get comfortable with a schematic
• Utilize C++ and Python tooling for testing, scripting, and automation around embedded targets
• Develop models and emulators for aircraft components to ensure hardware behavior is faithfully represented in our cloud simulation framework

Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Systems

Engineer

• Own vehicle performance modeling across hover, transition, and cruise: mission analysis, hybrid-electric energy management, climb optimization, and range/endurance trades
• Build and maintain 6-DOF flight dynamics models for a lift+cruise configuration: aero database construction through the transition corridor, rotor-wing interaction modeling, stability derivatives, and trim analysis in hover, transition, and cruise
• Contribute to vehicle design trades: feed flight sciences insight into OML shaping, drag reduction, control surface sizing, and flight controls architecture to close performance and handling qualities requirements
• Derive external flight loads across the operational envelope and collaborate with the structures team to define limit and ultimate load cases, support fatigue analysis, and feed aeroelastic models
• Support flight test planning, instrumentation requirements, and post-flight data reduction and analysis; correlate measured performance against analytical predictions
• Build and improve simulation environments used for envelope expansion, handling qualities assessment, and controls development
• Partner with propulsion and power teams to integrate hybrid-electric powertrain models into mission analysis; define power-required envelopes and binding constraints across the flight profile
• Contribute to certification planning by authoring compliance analyses, performance substantiation reports, and supporting V&V documentation
