About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide daily leadership and direction to Supervisors and frontline teams across maintenance and building operations
- Ensure effective execution of preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive work in line with SLA/KPI expectations
- Monitor service performance, ensuring compliance with hospital operational and contractual requirements
- Drive improved responsiveness, reliability, and quality of service delivery
- Lead performance management, coaching, and discipline processes in collaboration with People and Culture
- Manage operational budgets related to labour, overtime, and subcontractors
- Improve span-of-control effectiveness and accountability at the frontline
- Ensure effective daily and weekly planning routines, including work prioritization and scheduling
- Ensure compliance Healthcare accreditation requirements, and P3 contractual obligations
- Promote a strong safety culture and incident prevention approach
- Support the Plant Manager with regulatory compliance on critical building systems and operations
- Act as primary operational contact for internal stakeholders and hospital representatives
- Support issue escalation, resolution, and communication
- Lead root cause analysis on operational failures and performance gaps
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 5–10 years in Facilities Management or building operations
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field is preferred
- Trade certification (Electrician, Millwright, HVAC, etc.) is strongly preferred
- Experience in a healthcare or acute care environment
- Experience in multi-trade maintenance operations (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing)
- Experience managing supervisors and large operational teams
