About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide in-depth, cutting-edge scientific and clinical information to scientific and clinical experts in gastroenterology
  • Synthesize the latest research on products, disease states, and standards of care
  • Establish trusted relationships as a reliable source of unbiased, accurate, and up-to-date medical and scientific information
  • Support healthcare professionals in sharing evidence and addressing clinical care gaps
  • Connect scientific and clinical experts with Lilly resources and internal business partners
  • Facilitate collaborative research opportunities
  • Partner with clinical development on studies and investigators, including site identification, selection, and recruitment
  • Analyze customer data and develop strategic territory plans
  • Engage assigned experts through face-to-face and virtual interactions
  • Use territory analytics for customer identification and routing prioritization
  • Coordinate compliantly with other Lilly field roles sharing customers
  • Synthesize and communicate actionable customer and clinical insights to Lilly Medical and cross-functional teams
  • Cultivate internal networks and collaborate across functions
  • Contribute to team goals and work collaboratively with peers and Lilly colleagues
  • Execute the role compliantly in accordance with internal and external requirements, procedures, and laws

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced degree in health sciences, such as PharmD, MD, or PhD in a medically related field, with 2–3 years of clinically relevant experience
  • Alternatively, master's or bachelor's level degree in health sciences, such as BSN, RPh, PA, or NP, with 5+ years of clinical, research, or industry experience in a relevant therapeutic area
  • Experience in a medical or scientific role in the relevant therapeutic area
  • Authorized to work full-time in the United States; Lilly will not sponsor work authorization or visas
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Advanced presentation and computer skills
  • Expertise in literature identification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in the field while managing multiple priorities and projects
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including emotional intelligence and professional relationship building
  • Ability to manage complex challenges with resiliency
  • Intellectual curiosity about the relevant science or medicine field
  • Ability to use field-based tools and adapt as technology advances
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex scientific content clearly and concisely
  • Strategic and critical thinking skills to analyze, assess, and evaluate information
  • Live within the geography of Michigan or Ohio and near a transport hub
  • Ability to travel up to 80%, including weekend commitments
  • Hematology/Oncology/GU experience strongly preferred
  • Field-based work experience highly valued
  • Familiarity with health systems, academic communities, medical research, and medical education processes highly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with digital platforms for virtual HCP engagement highly valued
