About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Scientific exchange with general practitioners and internists
- Establishing and maintaining scientifically grounded relationships with office-based general practitioners and internists working in primary and specialty care, primarily via digital channels
- Providing practical, evidence-based information on cardiometabolic conditions (obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular risk reduction) — tailored to the realities of primary care practice
- Responding to medical-scientific inquiries from GPs / internists regarding mechanisms of action, clinical study data, and treatment options
- Education and guidance on guidelines, treatment algorithms, and new scientific developments in cardiometabolic primary care
- Attendance at congresses and symposia
- Planning, conducting, and follow-up of virtual scientific activities for GPs: individual video calls, online trainings, virtual roundtables
- Developing and using digital presentation materials and interactive media tailored to target group needs
- Continuous development of personal digital communication skills and active contribution to optimizing virtual engagement models
- Systematic capture and reporting of practice insights from the GP segment — especially regarding treatment barriers, care gaps, unmet medical needs, and patient perspectives
- Analysis of treatment patterns in primary care and feedback of relevant insights to internal teams
- Contribution to the development of medical strategies explicitly targeting the GP segment
- Close, cross-functional collaboration with Medical colleagues in field and office (field MSLs) as well as Commercial teams
- Active participation in national and international vMSL meetings and in the ongoing development of Lilly’s virtual MSL model
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in a scientific, medical, or pharmaceutical discipline (doctorate / MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent preferred)
- Solid knowledge of cardiometabolic indications relevant to general practice: obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular prevention
- Excellent German and good English language skills, both written and spoken
- Professional experience in an MSL role or a comparable medical-scientific position in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with virtual or digital engagement models and remote communication with physicians is an advantage — enthusiasm for digital working methods is required
- Familiarity with the German primary care landscape (structures, networks, guidelines of primary care professional societies) desirable
- Experience with CRM systems and digital communication tools (e.g., Veeva, MS Teams, Zoom) is an advantage
