About the role

  • Spearhead the IT landscape and shape the Digital agenda and transformation for new Lilly API manufacturing sites; report to M&Q IT VP and Manufacturing Associate VP Site Head
  • Ensure site operational readiness from an IT perspective and lead site start-up and integration of IT systems
  • Oversee integration and implementation of systems including Infrastructure, Warehouse management & logistics, Data historian, Real Time Floor Tracking, Digital Plant, Laboratory information management (LIMS), CAPA systems, Access Security, Building Monitoring, Risk Management, and MES
  • Serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team and provide IT site functional leadership
  • Develop and implement site IT strategic and business plans; dynamically adapt road map to site evolution and strategic directions
  • Benchmark innovative solutions, partner cross-functionally locally and globally, and implement site IT roadmap
  • Ensure staffing to meet site and functional agenda; lead, coach, and develop team members; support diversity, equity and inclusion in recruiting and development
  • Lead recognition, pay and promotion decisions, talent assessment and succession planning activities
  • Ensure IT organization is functionally strong, operationally centered, solution focused, and provides prioritization, barrier removal, oversight of technical activities, and knowledge sharing

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of leadership in Pharma IT, with a focus on API Manufacturing
  • 10+ years expertise in MES, Data Integration, and Advanced Analytics
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance (cGMP)
  • Deep Technical Knowledge on Pharmaceutical manufacturing and IT/OT footprint to support the site
  • Proven leadership, team-building, and talent development experience
  • Agile management of simultaneous projects and ability to adapt to shifting priorities
  • Collaborative cross-functional partner experience and exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated creativity, analytical thinking, and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to localize anywhere in the US and ability to travel to other US and global Lilly sites as required (up to 50% travel)
  • Ability to work on-site Monday through Friday and provide occasional extended/off-hour support to accommodate production schedules, shutdowns, etc.
