About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish, integrate, and implement a comprehensive Union Engagement Strategy across Lilly.
  • Develop meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships with Unions and other employers, relevant community organizations, in line with business objectives to address the needs of patients.
  • Serve as the lead for policy and programmatic priorities, ensuring that external stakeholder strategies are fully aligned to Lilly’s priorities.
  • Ensure alignment and collaboration with Lilly cross-functional colleagues in Government Affairs, Corporate Affairs, Manufacturing, Value & Access (Employer), Innovation Readiness, and Consumer areas.
  • Prioritize, build, and maintain trust-based relationships with Unions and related stakeholders.
  • Develop and expand the bridge between Lilly and external stakeholders.
  • Represent Union/patient voice with Lilly colleagues and represent the Lilly position with partner groups.
  • Maintain understanding of federal, manufacturing, employer, and CMH objectives, as well as the external environment.
  • Lead stakeholder mapping and insights generation of the Union environment to identify key relationship and project opportunities.
  • Develop specific strategies and engagement plans.
  • Be a Lilly ambassador with Union/external stakeholders.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 15 years of experience in construction project management or procurement, labor relations, advocacy, or related fields.
  • Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.
  • Ability to make complex business decisions and manage issues/crises with ease.

  • Anticipates and identifies business problems, trends, and opportunities across functions and environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale programs with significant risk and complexity to achieve business objectives.

  • Proven ability to understand and anticipate business needs and use communication to drive the business forward.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations with senior-most leadership, including CEO/Executive Committee level.
  • A strong track record of integrating Union/stakeholder voices into strategic planning.
