About the role

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in development, implementation, and maintenance of process safety management and engineering support services for the Lilly Lebanon API site across construction, startup, and operations
  • Support development and implementation of the process safety management operational readiness plan for the facility
  • Support project team on process safety design decisions, construction, and startup plans ensuring compliance and project deliverables
  • Provide oversight and support of process hazard analysis and facility siting studies
  • Develop and roll out PSM program elements: employee participation, Management of Change, Pre-Startup Safety Review, Process Hazard Analysis, etc.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and onboarding to build a strong process safety culture
  • Oversee operations of pharmaceutical API manufacturing units and partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering
  • Ensure application of industry codes and standards (e.g., NFPA 30, NFPA 652) and overpressure protection requirements
  • Build technical relationships with corporate and site process safety colleagues and network externally (CCPS, P2SAC, ACC)
  • Role may begin remotely with occasional travel to Indianapolis HQ and new site area; full relocation to the new site area will be required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or related field of study; CCPSC or PE preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Knowledge and experience in process safety, including OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) regulation
  • Trained in Process Hazard Analysis, HAZOP, and What-If Methodologies
  • Trained in Process Hazard Analysis facilitation
  • Trained in Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA)
  • Knowledge of EPA Risk Management Plan
  • Experience interfacing with HSE-related regulatory agencies
  • Strong analytical skills and systematic and structured way of working
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
