About the role

  • The HR Generalist plays a vital role in supporting day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and talent management across our multi-location eyecare organization. Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee concerns. Support employee relations by investigating complaints, documenting incidents, and recommending solutions in alignment with company values and compliance requirements. Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture through effective communication, recognition, and engagement initiatives. Partner with hiring managers to coordinate the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, interviews, and pre-employment screenings. Facilitate the onboarding process to ensure new hires have a seamless and welcoming experience. Support internal mobility and career development efforts. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in HRIS and personnel files. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across multiple states. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and handbooks. Support benefit programs including enrollments, changes, and employee education. Administer leave of absence processes (FMLA, ADA, personal leave, etc.) and coordinate with third-party vendors when applicable. Assist employees with benefit-related inquiries and troubleshooting. Coordinate performance review cycles, goal setting, and ongoing feedback processes. Support training initiatives and employee development programs. Assist with disciplinary processes and documentation in partnership with HR leadership. Contribute to HR department projects such as system implementations, process improvements, and organizational development. Collaborate across departments to support change management and company growth efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 3+ years of HR experience in a generalist or specialist role. Working knowledge of HR laws and best practices (multi-state experience preferred). Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems (e.g., BambooHR, ADP, etc.). Preferred: Healthcare, retail, or multi-site industry experience. Experience supporting remote and field-based employees.
