About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the budget process by coordinating with internal project teams and external vendors to develop detailed cost estimates for material handling system integration projects.
- Identify and communicate risks of cost overruns for pricing consideration.
- Analyze active and completed projects and apply findings to improve the estimating process.
- Develop preliminary project schedules with input from internal project teams and external vendors.
- Develop high-level rough order of magnitude pricing for projects by leveraging rules of thumb and historical data.
- Create RFQs (Requests for Quotes) for equipment and services to solicit bids from vendors.
- Present project budgets to sales and leadership.
- Maintain awareness of current market conditions that affect pricing and lead times.
- Review RFP documentation, quotes, drawings, and other relevant documents to ensure pricing accounts for project requirements.
- Lead the hand-off of project budgets to the implementation team.
- Assist sales teams with the creation of sales proposals and presentations as needed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in project cost estimating, project controls, procurement, project management, or engineering.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Dynamics F&O or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, integrity, and analytical skills.
- Organization and time management skills.
- Willingness to ask for, accept, and act on feedback.
- Knowledge of automated material handling technology is a plus.
