About the role

  • Lead design, development, and deployment of innovative robotic and mechatronic systems to automate and optimise processes.
  • Take projects end-to-end: conceptualisation, prototyping, testing, integration, commissioning, and final handover.
  • Integrate new technologies with existing equipment to streamline operations and boost efficiency.
  • Ensure systems meet high standards of performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Work closely with senior engineers, researchers, and cross-functional teams to develop and implement solutions.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning and growth.
  • Conduct research and system evaluations to validate performance, and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Document technical designs, processes, and test results, ensuring adherence to safety standards and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Robotics/Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years experience in robotics and control systems/automation.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with robotics platforms and tools (e.g., ROS/ROS2, MoveIt!, Embedded Systems).
  • Hands-on experience integrating robotic hardware and software systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuit theory.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Able to identify and action areas for product improvement independently.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to managing change.
  • Nice to have: Experience with 3D modeling and CAD software.
  • Nice to have: Experience working with PLC-based systems.
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of sensing and perception systems (e.g., vision systems).
  • Nice to have: Hands-on experience with robotic hardware and mechanical design.
