About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure quality of care
  • Perform direct physical therapy services according to accepted standards of practice and the patient physician’s certification
  • Follow the Plan of Care established by the Physical Therapist and report status changes promptly
  • Adhere to State Practice Act Guidelines
  • Verify the Plan of Care before each visit and provide care according to physician orders, assessment data, and established standards
  • Incorporate patient care goals from the Plan of Care into therapy care
  • Instruct patients and families on safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices
  • Instruct patients and caregivers in the therapy home program
  • Travel within the branch/office coverage area and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Report to the Branch Director, Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or designee

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association
  • Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work
  • 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred
  • Able and willing to travel within the branch/office coverage area
  • Dependable vehicle
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Current auto insurance in accordance with state laws
  • Able and willing to travel 50%
  • Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment
  • Full range of body motion, including handling, lifting, and transferring patients
  • Potentially work irregular hours, including call hours if applicable
