About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Promote Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure quality of care
Perform direct physical therapy services according to accepted standards of practice and the patient physician’s certification
Follow the Plan of Care established by the Physical Therapist and report status changes promptly
Adhere to State Practice Act Guidelines
Verify the Plan of Care before each visit and provide care according to physician orders, assessment data, and established standards
Incorporate patient care goals from the Plan of Care into therapy care
Instruct patients and families on safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices
Instruct patients and caregivers in the therapy home program
Travel within the branch/office coverage area and work in a physically demanding environment
Report to the Branch Director, Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or designee

Requirements

What you’ll need

Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association
Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work
6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred
Able and willing to travel within the branch/office coverage area
Dependable vehicle
Valid driver’s license
Current auto insurance in accordance with state laws
Able and willing to travel 50%
Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment
Ability to work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment
Full range of body motion, including handling, lifting, and transferring patients
Potentially work irregular hours, including call hours if applicable
