About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
- Support mobility, transfers, positioning, and walking
- Provide meal preparation, reminders, and feeding assistance
- Offer companionship, reassurance, and memory care support
- Perform light housekeeping and maintain a safe environment
- Follow individualized care plans
- Observe and report changes in condition or behavior
- Communicate with Elara Caring staff, community staff, families, nurses, and other care partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Compassionate, patient, dependable, and observant
- Comfortable supporting seniors, including individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Able to work effectively as part of a care team
- Reliable transportation to the Arlington Heights area
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, reposition, and assist residents, including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Caregiving experience preferred; professional or personal experience may be considered
- High school diploma or GED preferred
