About the role
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality therapy services
- Promoting Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission, and administrative policies to support quality patient care
- Providing direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and physician certification
- Following the established Plan of Care developed by the supervising Physical Therapist and promptly reporting any changes in patient condition
- Adhering to all state practice act guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Verifying the Plan of Care prior to each visit and delivering care according to physician orders, assessment data, and established standards
- Incorporating patient-specific goals from the Plan of Care into daily therapy interventions
- Educating patients and caregivers on the safe and effective use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices such as canes, walkers, and wheelchairs
- Instructing patients and caregivers on home exercise and therapy programs to support continued progress
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of patient care
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)
- Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of practice
- Six (6) months or more of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred
- Willingness and ability to travel within the assigned branch or coverage area (up to 50% travel)
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance in accordance with state laws
