About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead key people, compliance, and governance activities across the employee lifecycle
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees
- Provide expert guidance on employment and employee relations matters
- Oversee HR compliance and audit readiness
- Drive continuous improvement of HR policies and processes
- Lead and coordinate health and safety initiatives
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external providers to maintain safe working environments
- Review, maintain and develop HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook content
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across HR operations and employee experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, Psychology, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or HR operations-focused role
- Strong knowledge of German labour law, employment regulations, and HR compliance requirements
- Experience managing payroll processes and working with payroll providers
- Proven experience conducting HR audits and implementing compliance initiatives
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements in Germany
- Experience developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures
- Strong understanding of HRIS systems and HR data management
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
- HSE certification preferred; candidates without formal qualifications must demonstrate a willingness to complete HSE training
