About the role

  • Reporting to the Engineering Department heads, Mechanical Designers are primarily responsible for general design and drafting of mechanical systems within the manufacturing industry.
  • This includes general engineering drawings/document updates and participation in project meetings.
  • Candidates will have exceptional oral and written communication skills and must be proficient with 3D solid modelling and simulation software (i.e. SolidWorks).
  • They enjoy a dynamic working environment and are able work well alone or within a multidisciplinary team.
  • They also must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Mechanical Engineering Degree.
  • Membership with Engineers Nova Scotia (EIT or P. Eng.)
  • Preference will be given to applicants whom have accumulated 1-year of co-op work term experience or greater in machine design and/or project management.
  • Prior employment or work term experience with Michelin North America (Canada) Inc. an asset.
  • Strong preference given to candidates with experience using the following software packages;
  • The ability to manage multiple project-related tasks.
  • Must be self-directed and possess good self-discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
