About the role
- Reporting to the Engineering Department heads, Mechanical Designers are primarily responsible for general design and drafting of mechanical systems within the manufacturing industry.
- This includes general engineering drawings/document updates and participation in project meetings.
- Candidates will have exceptional oral and written communication skills and must be proficient with 3D solid modelling and simulation software (i.e. SolidWorks).
- They enjoy a dynamic working environment and are able work well alone or within a multidisciplinary team.
- They also must possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a Mechanical Engineering Degree.
- Membership with Engineers Nova Scotia (EIT or P. Eng.)
- Preference will be given to applicants whom have accumulated 1-year of co-op work term experience or greater in machine design and/or project management.
- Prior employment or work term experience with Michelin North America (Canada) Inc. an asset.
- Strong preference given to candidates with experience using the following software packages;
- The ability to manage multiple project-related tasks.
- Must be self-directed and possess good self-discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
