About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the month-end and year-end close process across CEA’s US and UK entities
Oversee and manage external bookkeeping teams
Maintain and improve the chart of accounts and general ledger structure in NetSuite
Ensure all financial transactions are recorded correctly
Oversee the accounts payable function
Project manage and own the annual audit process
Ensure compliance with regulatory filing requirements across jurisdictions
Serve as the primary NetSuite administrator for the accounting function
Directly manage finance associates responsible for payments processing

Requirements

What you’ll need

Significant experience in an accounting or financial controller role, ideally within a US 501(c)(3), UK charity, or complex multi-entity organization
Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and/or UK accounting standards
Demonstrated compliance expertise in at least one jurisdiction (US or UK) in the non-profit context
Experience managing or supervising staff
Experience designing or overseeing accounts payable controls
Experience with multi-entity consolidation
Proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite experience strongly preferred)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication skills with ability to translate financial information to non-finance stakeholders
