About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform independent pre‑closing flood compliance reviews for commercial, residential, and consumer real estate secured loans
- Analyze collateral using appraisal and external mapping tools to verify flood determination accuracy
- Identify existing liens and insurable values for collateral requiring flood insurance
- Research and resolve compliance issues with flood insurance documentation
- Communicate issues to loan officers and provide guidance for resolution
- Analyze and review private flood insurance policies for federal law compliance
- Confirm sufficient flood insurance coverage before settlement
- Respond to departmental inquiries regarding flood regulations and compliance expectations
- Support regulatory examinations, audits, and ongoing monitoring activities
- Maintain proficiency with Loan Origination Systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Update bank and department procedures for regulatory or operational changes
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent experience in Business, Finance, or Accounting (Preferred)
- 4 or more years banking experience (Required)
- 3 or more years lending, compliance, insurance, or real estate experience (Preferred)
- Strong understanding of federal flood insurance regulations and NFIP requirements (Required)
- Ability to analyze legal, insurance, and regulatory documents with strong attention to detail (Required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Required)
- Ability to independently solve problems and determine when to escalate risk appropriately (Required)
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills (Required)
- Proficiency with loan origination systems and third‑party flood determination tools (Preferred)
