About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Managing the field logistics
  • Updating company Project Managers and Contractors to ensure projects comply with all engineering standards, codes, and specifications
  • Provide direction and support in managing operations, overseeing job logistics, and generating reports for division leaders
  • Manages PlanGrid and Heavy Job for project work accuracy, monitoring project costs to stay within budget
  • Proactively works with Project Management, Field Supervisory, and Client teams to identify and analyze potential risks and impacts to the project schedule
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves supplier purchase orders
  • Validates, reconciles, and maintains accurate quantities for billing purposes
  • Produces drafts, manages, and maintains project submittal/RFI logs for the lead project manager
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, landowners, and suppliers
  • Assists with estimating duties, including but not limited to take-offs, solicitations to subcontractors/suppliers, bid and quote preparation, and bid running.
  • Ability to independently perform tasks assigned with instructions as to the expected general results.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree or higher in construction management, engineering or related field with 0-2 years’ experience or 4+ years of equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to work with field concepts and work in the office
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective communication (oral, written, presentation, listening) with internal and external customers
  • Effective motivational and supervisory skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, mean, median, and averages
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all Veit policies and procedures
  • Ability to respond to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude.
