About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Recommend and execute system development tasks to include design, integration and formal testing.
  • Create and maintain policies and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution.
  • Design, create and maintain comprehensive documentation of best practices for all implemented system configurations.
  • Represent the Systems Group in Technology Review Boards ensuring that best practices and consistent methodologies are considered.
  • Provide software evaluation support.
  • Work closely with other technical team members and departments to recommend solutions and resolve priority issues in timely manner.
  • Interact with multiple internal customers and external vendors and partners to provide quality customer service.
  • Drive escalations and ensure vendors and partners responsibilities and SLA's are met, as necessary.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and act as escalation point for other Systems personnel.
  • Facilitate as escalation resource for incident, request, change and problem management.
  • May be responsible for working on automation using DevOps techniques.
  • Provide support for internal customers and external vendors with disaster recovery activities and audit requests, as needed.
  • May serve as a mentor to other team members. Shares expertise and best practices and serves as a subject matter expert.
  • Support the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 or more years of relevant experience based on specific discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a medium to large scale enterprise.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with the following disciplines (depending on area of expertise needed):
  • Installing, configuring and operating software packages in both Windows, Linux and IBM Mainframe environments, including Web applications, Tomcat, Apache, SSL, Certificates Server configuration, NFS Configuration, LDAP configuration and performance tuning
  • Network troubleshooting (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, server ports, switches/routers, firewalls)
  • Analysis and diagnosis of large-scale infrastructure for networking and I/O bottlenecks
  • Designing and implementing security solutions inside and across secure networks
  • Oracle, SQL, IBM MQ, Websphere including schema analysis, analysis of applications, understanding performance verses load implications on the database
  • Aptitude to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experienced with network security and encryption protocols.
  • Experienced with Relational Database concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • On-call availability 24/7.
  • Background and drug screen.
