About the role

  • Serve as a Bioinformatics Training Specialist supporting the adoption and enhancement of enterprise bioinformatics platforms and analytical tools
  • Apply bioinformatics domain knowledge to create clear scientific and public health training materials for bioinformatics platforms and tools
  • Assist with product demonstrations, stakeholder briefings, and user engagement activities to support adoption and feedback including user acceptance testing activities
  • Partner closely with product managers and engineering teams to ensure bioinformatics platforms are user-centered
  • Track requirements and delivery progress using tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience analyzing bioinformatics workflows, data types, and analytical use cases such as genomics, sequencing data, pipelines, or surveillance analytics
  • Knowledge of common bioinformatics, life sciences, or public health data platforms or analytical tools
  • Ability to write user-facing materials in plain language, including standard operating procedures, job aids, and troubleshooting guides
  • Ability to lead product demonstrations to clients and users, lead user and stakeholder discussions, ask the right questions, document clear requirements, and translate them into actionable implementation steps
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize user requests for the team
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Master’s degree in a Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Genomics field
