About the role

  • Design and iterate user-centered website features and UI components that improve usability, accessibility, relevance, and clarity of information.
  • Participate in product discovery by creating wireframes and prototypes, and by conducting user research (interviews, usability testing, surveys) in partnership with the product manager.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, project managers, subject-matter experts, and other internal stakeholders to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Deliver high-fidelity design assets for use on the website and collaborate with engineers in the implementation of the design.
  • Champion accessibility and inclusive design, ensuring compliance with WCAG standards and best practices.
  • Support testing and quality assurance to confirm that designs are implemented accurately, mobile-friendly, and accessible.
  • Use analytics, data, and user feedback to continuously evaluate and refine the website experience.
  • Support the design of effective marketing artifacts including funder-facing materials.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned to support the organization's strategic goals, with the expectation that all EdReports employees remain flexible and adaptable to evolving responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Passion for EdReports’ mission and vision, our core values, and our commitment to Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity.
  • At least 5 years of experience in UX/UI website design.
  • Proven ability to create prototypes, wireframes, and mockups.
  • Experience applying user research methods (e.g., usability testing, user interviews, surveys) and translating findings into actionable design decisions.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX best practices, including responsive and interaction design.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and ability to design inclusive digital experiences.
  • Experience optimizing designs for different devices and screen sizes, including mobile.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams and presenting design rationale to stakeholders.
